Going to look at this ep3 tommorow....

Hey folks, not been on here in a while. I was originally looking for a 04 s2000 but after test driving a few I'm starting to think it might not be what I want after all. The car's drive really nice but its a hardcore ride and so unpractical for a daily driver. The insurance is double the price of an ep3 as well!

Thinking of possibly going down the route of getting another ep3 and spending the spare cash on mods, possibly even going down the route of forced induction at some point. This one has just popped up and it's right on my doorstep, I'm a bit cautious of buying from dealers now after getting ripped off from honda in sunderland recently.

I've been out of the game for a while, is this ep3 well priced? Looks pretty clean to me, got a good base to start from.

Knock £500 off and you probably won't be far off.

It's not a "minter" so to speak because it's not original with the alloys, it's not high mileage by any means but there are lower mileage ones around.

It does have FSH though.

Check the tyres for tread depth/brand and see how much road tax is on it. Use these to barter down the price if they aren't what you'd want.

It also sounds like they've just serviced it and MOT'd it themselves. Ask for a copy of the service report. It will tell you the state of pads/discs etc. if they've done it properly.

Reg is a little bit too close to DON ANUS for my liking.

But as Loxy said if you can get £500 off it you should be happy.

Looks O.K, could do with a tidy up (bodywork looks a little dull) just do the usual checks as long as it drives tidy and you're happy with it try and get a bit off.

Mine is an 04 plate with 60k fsh and in better condition than that. I've been around looking for prices of what it's worth and mine, on a private sale, would be worth about £4500, part ex garages would give me between £3500-£4000. So based on mine I would say, as the others have said, you should be able to get at least £500 off.

Cheers guys... I thought the bodywork looks a little dull too. It might just be the pictures *** as the quality is bad.

I'm going to check it out now. I really had my heart set on an s2000 but they are way more expensive for a similar age and mileage. It would mean saving for longer and having to pay a huge insurance premium! It would also be my daily driver and I cant imagine it being very useable in the winter months.

The civic is a much more sensible and affordable choice. If this one is in decent nick in the flesh and they can drop £500 I'd be very interested. I'll let you guys know how it goes....

Ok guys, I've just went to check it out and fell in love with it.... Bodywork and interior is actually immaculate.

One problem... After looking under the hood and checking the oil it appears like it might be running a little low on it. Under the oil cap itself looked quite dry and the dipstick was showing thin looking see through oil but not very much of it.

Not sure if I'm overreacting or if this is a problem?? It's not bone dry but it could definitely do with a top up. It also has a typhoon filter on it which I'm not keen on.

The guy said it still needs to be serviced and MOT and assures me there is nothing to worry about (he would say that ***).

What do ya recon guys?

you must be getting some warranty with it ? one month drive it hard for the first week make sure its ok while under warranty

As long as your happy with it. If they are doing a service on it the oil should be fine then.

6 month warranty I believe, I plan on giving it a good going over and taking it to a specialist to get it checked over the first month or so of ownership anyway, I guess if anything was wrong I'd find out way before the warranty is up anyway.

I'm going to test drive it tommorow, fingers crossed all goes well.

The money I save on buying this ep3 over the s2000 will either be put to one side for jrsc or go straight on, springs, disks, k-pro, de-cat and re-map.

Hello Nowhereboy.
Hope you are happy with your new car!
I'm in the same boat myself at the moment and looking to purchase a second EP3 so the hunt begins :)
Noticed your comments re Honda Sunderland, they had one advertised for approx £8500 yet when contacting them, it
had been sent straight to the auctions ??
