G's ongoing project. Updated 1st post.

OK little update here. I was on my way home from work, stopped at a junction waiting to pull out, and then a bloke came up behind me and reshaped my rear bumper and tailgate for me    I guess he decided not to bother with the brakes and use me instead.

Hey ho.

Anyway thanks to the VERY hekpfull Tony at Greenlight. Today the car was picked up to be repaired, and a courtesy car dropped off. They told me it would be a like for like car. What did they drop off to me? A brand spanking new red Alpha Romeo Brera. Fully loaded :D :D. Result, gonna have fun pottering about in that.

Anyway, on the bright side, when the car is back it is being booked in for a roll cage. And the tuning parts are now all together and in the USA waiting to be shipped these will include:

Exhaust
newly designed inlet manifold to test out
stage 2 cams
titanium valves and springs
rocker cover
and a few other bits n bobs. So there is always a silver lining yo!

Sorry to hear of the crash G, but the rest sounds awesome.

How long do you think till your near completion?

Hmm well the bits from the states should be on the way soon, they also have some LCA's that are new for the EP they want me to try, be rude not to. The cage I am arrainging with them tomorrow. As far as fitting and tuning trhe engine bits, well that may take some time tbh as am pretty poor atm lol.

Talking of which how far away are you?

have done so much to your car ! its not the same car

Sounds good mate, who you using for the cage? Ive been thinking about one?

Im nearly there now. The cars up and running and the body work is complete. Have a few issues with the turbo size vs compression so the heads coming of in feb so we can flow and port and go back to standard HG to raise comp again. Turbo is going to AET for grounding out to accomodate a larger compressor wheel ect and then remap in march when Mase is back.

I spoke to them today Nick and they were asking how you were getting on with yours. They are pretty cool peeps there.

Ah cool, yeah they were great there, really helpful and professional.

I'm thinking about getting so bits added to the cage as well for this summer coming, so might pop over to have a chat with them when you take yours over.

Well I was going to ask you about that. i have to call em in 3 weeks to book it in, but would like your car there as well so I could have some shots of it with your permision for the mag, I plan on doing a small piece on cages and what to look for as well as the usual project feature.
I know cages are quite specialised, but if someone IS going to have one I'd rather that they do it right than what that guy had done with the Focus we shot.

Well after realising your the only one paying atention to my car, i thought i would repay the compliment and browse your post, and NICE!!!

Sorry to hear about the plonker that ended up in your back pocket, but atleast its not a right off.

Would love to see this in the flesh, got to say i love the Buddyclub seats too, but if i get serious on track, i have found the perfect replacement, Cobra Technology with comfor foam, Outlast cooling, and Hans compatable, not sure which one yet, but they cost upto 1k per seat lol

Cheers dude, let me know when your car is all sorted, we should hook up and talk shop at some point :D

Well, small update, the car is back from the shop after having a new rear bumper and tailgate fit. She came back all valeted and is looking like new :D.

Booking her in for the cage next monday and I have a new shop who have agreed to paint the car shortly after, So nearly there. Should be all done early spring. just in time for show season. I may take some last decent(ish) pics this weekend if the weather is nice. Before the next round of work is done.

G, I hope thats a carbon boot :D

Will give you a call soon, will have to meet up

lol you keep saying that, and no I am staying away from carbon boots as from people I have spoken to that have them, they say they leak. Fine if you live in Cali, not good 'ol blighty.
