I had my valve clearance done today
I went to a local specialist in neston parkgate,the fella who done the job was a mechanic at two mills Honda for 42 years until they closed then he opened up his own place,
so took the car there for 9.00 am this morning there was a Honda Jazz courtesy car there for me,
then picked it up at 16.00 and it was a pleasure to speak to the fella with all his knowledge about these Honda

now the best bit total charge was £36 inc vat all stamped up the book,
defenately will be going back to him superb fella

Well worth getting them checked. I pay a similar sort of price to you. £100 odd at Honda seems ridiculous to say it's not even a hours worth of work once it's cooled down.

I had Valve Clearance done recently
Two of my Intake Manifold Valves were slightly off and 1 Exhaust Valve was slightly off
Car feels much better now and quieter

Mine was was done just over a year ago,how often should they be done and what is the standard price.

Every 25,000 miles.

Honda charge £100 surcharge on top of a service for the clearances. An independent garage could be cheaper.
 
Anyone know anyone around Derbyshire region who knows there stuff and doesn't charge silly money?
