Has Anyone Removed Steering Wheel Without SRS Light?

Messages

As above.

I have found a few threads reporting that they cannot get rid of the light after doing the said procedure.

In the service tech you need to do the following:

Disconnect battery
Disconnect SRS unit
Removed airbag

Cheers.

You should be able to remove the steering wheel if you disconnect the battery, if you're removing to re-fit the same wheel without the SRS light coming on.

If you're replacing the wheel with a momo/sparco etc.. race wheel then you'll need the correct resistor to plug into the airbag connector, car side, to trick the SRS system into thinking the airbag is still there.

I've fitted race wheels to both an EP3 and DC2 without the SRS light coming on.

All done!

I disconnected the battery for about 20mins prior to working on it. No light.

I also did the idle learn procedure.

You should always leave a decent amount of time between disconnecting the battery and working on the airbag to allow everything to discharge.
