FN2 Help Choosing The Right One.

I've been thinking about getting an FN2 for quite a while, and while I'm new to Type R's I've been reading up on the forum for months. My plan was to get one in the new year and scrap my Passat which has 260,000 miles on it, however after breaking down tonight I think my hand has been forced early. The recovery driver seemed adamant that it's the cam belt, however, I'm waiting for this to be confirmed tomorrow by the garage.

So, I'm looking to spend about £7000 and below are the options that I'm looking at:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...&radius=1500&search-target=usedcars&logcode=p

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...&radius=1500&search-target=usedcars&logcode=p

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classif...to=7500&engine-size-cars=2l_to_2-5l&logcode=p

So as I said, I'm new to Honda's and new to buying cars really, my last few have been free hand-me-downs from my old man.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated,

Tom

Bronze ones are ace.
Check roof at windscreen.
Check for stone chips on front end.
Check for 3rd gear noises
Peel rubbers back on top of doors check for corrosion.
Accident damage... have the valves been checked twice (each 25k)
General second hand car stuff after that.
If you go for the bronze one get them to put a new gaiter on the gear stick lol.
Personally Id not buy one thats been modded, but thats just me.
GHood Luck mate

Might want to think about buying privately better value for money imo. Admittedly you don't get a warranty and no finance. Remember 7k is on the top end of the scale for fn2 prices so your should be looking for perfection

I'd recommend seeing what is for sale on here or other Type R forums. A lot of care goes into the cars on here and you'll get a great example for much less than a garage.

Edit: there are a few lower mileage examples on Civinfo for less money.
