FN2 How much for the following?

Messages

I'm looking at three fn2's one with 75k and the other with 65k and the other one with 66k how much would a valve adjustment be if they haven't been done ?
the cars are 08 57 and 57.

with the 57 plate fn2's do they suffer with the 3rd gear problem ?

Thanks mat

Buying guide is here: http://type-r-owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=84577

3rd gear was prevalent on the 57 plates. You never know, it might have already had it done under warranty. My old 57 did.

Honda charge £100 on top of a normal service for valve clearances but it would depend where you took it and what else you were having done if you went to an independent specialist.

the three that i'm looking at are 57 reg 75k = £6700 full history another is 57 reg 66k = £7000 full service or 08 reg 64k = £7400 but say if the valves need doing about £300 knocked off? plus my ep1 95k another 600+ off or part exchange. are these prices for the car ok or too high my dads good at haggling so

They sound about right. You'll only get £300 knocked off if they don't know what it means, if it is due a service as well maybe.

Price also depends on condition, colour and options. Worth going looking at and driving all three and going for the one that feels right.

I've travelled the width of the country to look at an EP3 that looked fantastic on the ad but was a proper pig when I laid eyes on it.

they are all gt's the 57's are silver and the 08 black with parking sensors ill hopefully book a test drive in the next coming weeks and also have a look at the buyers guide. I might hold off buying one just because the new type r will be coming out soon so there might be 2009 onwards for a bit cheaper.

The new model won't affect the prices of the FN2 now so any depreciation would'nt be accelerated.
