Hi all
i bought a shift light a few weeks ago and trying to find info on how to wire it up has been like getting blood from a stone :smt017
but ive done it so for reference if anyone else is tempted i took some pictures for you save you the hassle i had although most of you will know how to get to the bits and bobs
also my discreet location for fitting it
one Dyna shift light kit. three wires a live an earth and the input signal wire
i picked up the live from the cigar lighter and the earth from the frame behind the radio
you need to find your ecu, its under here
and its bolted down with three bolts two at the base the third behind the glove box
to drop the box down you flex the corners back
your third bolt
this is the signal wire you need to tap into to pick up the rev counter
its refered to as plug E pin 26
and i did find a picture of it
this is actually it
scotch locked and back in place
as easy as that for the signal wire but took me ages to find the info and no real pictures of it.
as for location thats a personal thing but i didnt want it on show as a chav light :asw:
so i decide to put it
here
??
o sorry here
centre out and a bit of jiggery pockery and its in nicely
works for me as only i know its there
anyway hope that bit of info helps someone if they decide to fit one
ive set it up to come on at 7875 because 8000 was to late for my old age to change gear in time before hitting the limiter lol
