how to remove the pull out cup holder?

does anybody know how to remove this as the little holder on the spring has come off and when ever i put a bottle/can in there it just slides around

Does it not just pull out?

Or maybe squeeze the sides in and then pull out? :?

can't be removed from the front. the workshop manual states that there are 2 screws holding it in from the back.
but... i maybe wrong...

As above you need to get to it from behind...
