Hydrogen filled tyres for trackday

Ive got a trackday coming up and wanted to know if anybody knew how it reacts to the temperatures compared to air? my tyres are currently filled with hydrogen since ive had them fitted from new.

anybody have any experience/knowledge?

 Hydrogen  Cue hindenburg style fireball when a spark comes from the exhaust kabooooommm

With Nitrogen then you'll see less of a pressure increase as the tyre/wheel heats up.

With hydrogen you'll die an amazing death.

Neil's right for road use pressure, i've never used Nitrogen on track but it's not supposed to bump up massively when hot like air does so you would be much closer to the 32/30 i'd have thought.

That for too low, IIRC Honda spec for an EP3 is 32F 30R.....

26/25 is what i used for the track with air. On the road i had used 30/28 (air). What pressure should i be using with nitrogen on the track?

I've given you my answer. Try the pressure you're at now and monitor after sessions to see what pressure you're peaking at.

As per Neil I keep my tyres at a steady 78% nitrogen.

I thought about going 100% but if James Bond has taught me anything its that I can breathe the air from the valves if my car becomes submerged and I need to stay beneath water to hide from my foes.

Reminds me of the time when someone had a bright idea about putting helium in tyres... yeah mate, the saving in weight would add another 100bhp/tonne! Stick some in the spare wheel too!

Go for 4-6 psi less if you are using oem air, with nitrogenz you will still need to drop from road pressure 2-4psi depending on how accurate my guesses are.

OEM air?

I always source my air from alternative air specialists. Honda prices are just too high. Not worth risking eBay air though. Can't be sure on build quality. Electrons everywhere.

 this.

You won't last long on 100% nitrogen, although you will laugh your arse off as you die.

Why don't you just use a tyre pressure gauge and just remove the air when the pressure gets too high?
