I there any way to tell a early spoon N1

As per title guys, lad from eBay is breaking a car and he thinks its a spoon n1 but as I'm aware the early ones didn't have the plaque, he said the welds look nice but just wondering if there is a definitive way to tell?
 
As far as I know, All genuine N1's are welded. All reps have a pressed fit front end (The end that the exit is on). Maybe this helps, maybe it doesnt, and maybe someone could confirm this?
