Hi guys got a ep3 type r 2004

the clutch is still on its original and the bite is very low
when I'm driving and release the clutch I get a whining noise, but when I put my foot on the clutch it goes
its a horrible noise it doesn't do it stationery when revving only while driving
is it the clutch or input shaft bearing
thanks

It does sounds like the clutch release bearing but that normally does it in neutral and goes when you press the clutch and the bearing is under load.

Either way, clutch release bearing or input shaft bearing, you are only going to know really when you get the box off.

It's going into grinspeed after Xmas for a new clutch so while its there and boxes is out might replace the input shaft bearing it's not that much extra to change it so while its out might as well get it done for peace of mind

I have the same whining noise too I'm not sure what it is even I had new clutch fitted 4 months ago

So far I have spoke to 3 people bout this issue and they all said even after the input shaft the noise still comes back so you rather speak to some Honda specialists and confirm it before changing it and then having the same issue again.
