Am in the process of selling a vehicle that has been SORN for a few monthes, does anyone know how long I have to insure it for in order for the insurance to show up on the DVLA's Road Tax website? Or will I need a Certificate of Insurance and do it at the Post Office?

You will most likely need the certificate, but it should only take between 24 - 48 hours to register on the site if it's going to
 
Your details should take about 2 working days to show on the MID (Motor Isurance Database). You can then get the tax online/ via the phone as, insurance wise, you should only need your insurance policy number.
