From what ive been reading the standard ipod cable (£200 from honda) isnt up to much, so looking for alternatives.

So far ive heard mentioned the harmon karmon ipod unit and the dension unit however as yet i dont know if you retain the steering wheel controls.

You can go down the fm modulator route but i prefer a proper hard wired route, so does anyone know if the radio in the type r has a auxiliary input?

unfortunatley no but you should be able to get a connector to fool it to think that the multichanger port is a aux-in

goto halford as they have the part number in one of thier flip down catlogues near the ipod solutions

i have ust bought the VADX001 for exactly the same job in an Audi so they should do it for a CTR

Shed load of these available from this seller, gonna call the manufacturers to check compatibility, will keep you informed.

unless anyone knows whether they will defo work or not?

Alan
I had one in my EP3 and it worked fine, although all it does it give you a line in to plug you ipod in, so you got no control of the ipod via the headunit and it won't charge it either.

They for the EP civic so i have no idea whether they'll fit an FN...

I've called them and they've said it is for the 2001 pioneer model, they're not sure about the new one. They said unless it;s pioneer it defo won;t work.

Anyone know who the new head unit is made by?

Here is a pic from a 5dr with the same hu

The aux connection if the white one on the far right.

It looks identical to the one had fitted to my EP3 for my MP3 player so hopefully it should fit the new car

I bought mine from here

I'll let you know more when I try and fit it. Or get Dalco to fit it when I have some work done.
