Is it possible to have the standard alarm/fob programmed out altogether?

In another thread, with my 2001 EP3, I've been having problems with other manufacturers fobs (VW group) unlocking my car. So is it possible to have the standard remote locking/alarm programmed out altogether and I'll just open/lock the car with the key for the time being until I get an aftermarket system?
