Not sure which type r you've got, but as it's short ram, then likely answer is no, it's not any good. Short rams on the K20 engine leave an open cone filter sat next to a very hot exhaust manifold. Short rams also loose power on the Accord R, and seeing as the older teggys engine layout is similar to the accords, probably looses power on that to.
