FD2 JDM_DAVE'S FD2 BUILD THREAD/BLOG

I also rate them highly.. it's an area that I don't mind spending money. My fd2 came from Japan with pmu disc and pads. I only noticed this when changing the wheels the other day. I was looking at ordering the M+M honda air box and scoop, but wasn't sure if it just came with just the lid and used the oem bottom or it came as a whole airbox. I don't have the oem airbox so didn't want to risk it. Looking at the gruppe m now but have read mixed reviews with them on fd2's.. Does anyone know why there is a square hole cut out exposing the filter on the FD2 gruppe m unit? My other option is the mugen air box or j's racing.

The Mugen / M&M and seeker , air boxes are all more or less the same. I believe they only come with the lid and the piping which is fitted in place of near side brake duct, I have the M&M set up and it works well, the air intake design on the fd2 is better than the previous k20 designs. I made a solid 240/180 on eurospecs "harsh on your pub bragging rights " dyno , that was with the toda catback / toda decat and in effect just the standard airbox set up as when the car was mapped it did not have the piping fitted by the brake duct , once this was fitted I noticed a little bit more grunt, could be the placebo effect of course.

I've read a horror story about the gruppe m which is enough to put me off - swallowed a bolt straight in to the engine.. I've read up and believe the best intakes are the M&M/seeker/Mugen - though some have fitted a skunk2 which looks a good design also.

I had the Skunk2, works and sounds well.

Duncan Baird with the blue Frankenstein K2.4 FD2 had the Mugen intake. He followed some friends through a flood on a drive out. Hydrolocked the thing, hence him now going Frank.

So after a lot of stress and a lot of swearing the FEEL's diffuser is finally on.. Iv taken a few photo's of the under side while it was on the ramp and of the finished product, I'll post up better pictures in the morning as light didn't give it justice.

In regards to the air box discussion, Am I better leaving the HKS intake on? Or buying a MUGEN or similar? The HKS sounds the part but I'm not sure it's getting the best out of the engine.

Yes bud, I'll take better photos in the morning. The j's exhaust looks lost in amongst the diffuser, almost to the point of considering a new back box. !!! I'm gonna do a bit more research into the intake side, not that I disagree with anyone's advise but just to make sure I'm satisfied.

Got to say, I'm probably one of very few who aren't a fan of the FD2, but this looks amazing!
Credit to ya Dave, some cracking parts going on this car :)

Hey guys, took some better pictures this morning of the FEEL's diffuser, I'm not sure how I feel about it at the moment, I think I may need a bigger back box. Let me know what you guys think, don't be afraid to be honest haha

Looking at the seeker blade replacement, toyed with the idea of the mugen but really want the feel's adjustable blade but it's a lot of money for what it is.

Na I own a 54 plate EP3, would love an FD2. Nice to see another local Honda enthusiast though.
