FN2 Jump for EP3 to FN2 Mugen 200

Hi all,

Does anyone think the jump from an EP3 to an FN2 is a good idea. I was thinking Championship White FN2 or FN2 Mugen 200 - Money depending of course.. Anyone have any pointers or recommendations.

Any pictures would be nice too :D

Cheers,

Lee

I moved from an EP3 to a FN2 and never regretted it.

Some people don't like the FN2, I just think you need to understand how it drives.

I personally would not pay the premium for a Mugen 200. The only difference between that and a Championship White car is the Mugen front and rear splitters (just get the GP kit, looks better IMO) and 19" Lightning alloys. Oh and a Mugen plaque near the gearstick and a badge on the back.

Also for information, all FN2 manufactured after April 2010 came with a LSD fitted as standard, so get one of those or a Championship White and spend the money you save on FRSU and brake mods. ;)

That's absolutely perfect! Thanks very much. Will I really save the different in money with getting the championship white and getting the body kit, to by the kit and spray must be change out of £1500? Do you know where I can find some pictures of the GP kit?

Great write up by the way.

You buy the splitters from Honda ready painted for your car, so they are available in all of the standard FN2 colours, including Championship White.

The above site does them for £516.66+VAT.

M200s are going for about £17,500 to £18,000 at the moment. I've seen Championship White cars up for sale for £13-14k recently.

2009 CW on CTRO for £13,500.

2010 CW on CTRO for £14,500.

This chap has had his roof wrapped, he has the CW edition Rage Alloys, and the City Protection pack which is the rubber body coloured bits on the corner of the front and rear bumpers and along the sides.

However it does have the GP kit fitted and it is CW, so shows off what it can look like.

Didn't know this. I thought it was just the CW ones.

I personally like them after see more and more of them. Was a bit too different to start with but has defiantly grown on me.
Trying to convince the missus to get one next as they're good prices for the car your getting, especially the GT. But she wants a 4 door for when we have children...

Aye, for example:

Transmissions

  • 6 speed manual
  • Limited Slip Differential (LSD)
They also had a minor facelift on cars manufactured in 2009. just equipment really like HIDs, headlight washers & auto leveling, Ipod/MP3 connections.

That car above is exactly the same spec as the CW and Mugen cars, just with less chrome or Mugen bits.

Driven a CW FN2 and i loved it and much prefered the steering compared with *** EP but i think it was down to the weight of the car.

Doesn't feel anywhere near as raw though.

I made the change from EP3 to FN2, and afraid to say it but i really do miss my EP3. The rawness (as mentioned above), the body shape, and lower stiffer ride makes all the difference. And I didn't even drive it to it's full potential.

HOWEVER in doing so, I got a >2 year old car with 5k on the clock, still under Honda Warranty, loads more to play with inside the car, and the same 0-60 time.

Guess maybe when I win the lotto or have a moment of madness I'll buy an EP3 again...

If you get the balances shaft delete kit done the engine is just as buzzy and responsive as the K20a2.

Then get the Eibach Progressive 15mm springs with full four wheel fast road set-up and you won't miss your old EP3 quite as much!

You've got options and plenty of potential hidden in the FN2.
