My son lost the key fob for my EP3 Civic Type R. Car is now immobilised and going nowhere.
The nearest Honda dealer is a 12 hour ferry journey taking the car on a trailer and will cost £1000+ to get this sorted by the time I've paid ferry fares, hotel bills, garage bill, etc.
Is it possible to simply swap out the ECU with an unlocked ECU to get past the immobiliser?
Any other solution that costs less than £1000 welcome.
