Knocking coming from left side

Messages

I have been having problems since I changed my struts.

Knocking when going over bumps coming from the left side. Ive had strut changed again still same knocking also had top mounts changed and still.

The steering rack was creeking so that got changed aswell and steering feels ten times better but still got this knocking.

Its had new drop links and new front wishbone bushes.

The garage I take it to said he cant see anything else up at all and doesnt want to fling anymore bits at it. Most of above needed done anyway.

Only other thing I can think of is anti roll bar bushes.

I'm looking for coilover so trying to sort this out before I get them.

Any ideas anyone causes its starting to **** me off big time really not enjoying driving the car at the moment.

Cheers

CV joints? Ball joints? Any play in the wheel/hub?

Could it be something silly like an induction kit knocking around the engine bay? My AEM CAI did that for a while when i didn't have it bolted up.

Ball joins were changed about a year ago but it could be that.

There wasnt any play at all. I have a teg m and that was rattling but I put sticky pads on that and that stopped it.

Will check the ball joins and cv boots next see how it goes but am sure the garage I take it to would of done that.

I've got the same problem with mine had it on the ramp 2 or three times now, couldn't see nothing. the mot advised slight play in the nsf track rod but I havn't checked to confirm this yet. mine doesn't do it all the time though seemed to do it after a journey or when I'm parking in a car park. be interesting to see if anyone else has had the same issue and resolved it.

Its murder, I have it booked in at tdi in December aslong as its sorted for then but its been going on since june and been in the garage about 6 times now still can't find out what it is.

Half the time I think its me being paranoid cause I am fussy when it comes to any wee noise.

Mine has a slight knock up front too. I am going to start swapping out bits and chase it down soon. It's had new drop links already so will do bushes and the cheaper options before doing top mounts and ball joints etc.

Seems to be a common thing with civics. Mine only does it over really rough roads and certain speed bumps, otherwise it's not too bad, but its definitely there. Annoying!! It flew through the MOT but that's not saying much. Some of these guys don't have a clue so will take it to a specialist if I can't sort it myself.

Mine is the exact same its just over rough roads and and speed bumps, ive had top mounts drop links and struts so think im going to try ball joints and track rod ends see what happens, they both haven't been changed for a while anyway.

I forgot about this thread lol.

I got my ball joints changed anti roll bar bushes and track rodends changed, already had drop links and wishbone bushes and steering rack changed. new struts new top mounts and still clunking. ( most of that was getting changed anyway )

Its proper doing my head in, no one can find the problem. im booked in at tdi on the 30th so while im down ive asked them to look at It so hopfully 3rd garage lucky they can find a solution.

It is in the garage just now getting a few other things done to it but ived asked them to check my front brakes cause they clunk when I push the peddle sometimes and not long had new pads disks and fluid and braided brake lines fitted.

That does sound bad. I haven't tried changing any parts on mine yet but I hope it solves it when I do! I'm on standard springs too.

So it turns out it was a dodgey top mount that I had just fitted. kyb crap, changed now for some coilovers and its all fixed.

I was only recently starting to think mine might be top mounts, mine hasn't done it for a while though so havnt bothered looking into it. Atleast you've got yours sorted thanks for updating , in sure a few people will find that useful.
