Knocking/Creaking Sound From Engine on Idle [Video]

Ive recently noticed a knocking sound coming from the engine when im sat at idle, and when the engine is warmed up.

Its not a constant knock it does it in intervals and it seems to be more clear too when i switch the A/C on.

car is on 59990 mileage.

Car drives fine otherwise and the A/C works fine too.

Something is banging against the body work when the engine drops revs so may be an engine mount, does the car kidder under the clutch when pulling off?

never noticed the judder but will check tomorrow, is there a way to check if the engine mounts are worn? or should i take it to a garage tomorrow (and get them to whip my drive shaft heat shield off whilst im there lol )

You need to sort of know how much the engine moves when the mounts are in good condition other wise you won't know the difference when they are knackerd.

You can either pry the engine and mounts for play and visually check the mounts for cracks and deterioration or have the hand brake firmly applied so the car doesn't move and bring the clutch to biting point and have someone check the engine to see how much it moves.

Best take it to a garage
