knocking/tapping noise top end

plash help I've just taken my DC5 out for a spin and all of a sudden i started to get this knocking/tapping noise that hater looking at when i got home it sounds like its coming from the top end. does any one have any ideas or could help point me in the general direction of the fault

oh and it only happens then i apply the accelerator not at idel

Could be your tappets?

Could be the injectors being noisy or the valve clearances needing doing.

has anyone got an idea what the valve clearances is on the dc5? from what i can tell intake is nine thousand on the gauge. not sure if this is right or not and not sure what the exhaust side is?

Is it a k20A2 engine?

i know its a K20A not sure what you mean by the 2? its the standard engine thats in a 53 plate DC5

K20a in a DC5. UK EP3s have a K20a2.

Intake should be 8-10 thousandth of an inch, exhaust should be 10-11 thousandth done on a cold engine.
