Kwik fit service?? Skint! (ep3 Fife)

So it's time for my 132 month interim service, but last service hasn't been filled out in book so thinking I'd better get a full service anyway. Was looking at service prices online and to get it done at Honda is gonna cost me £400+, compared to kwik-fit at £130.

I need to get new tyres within the next couple of weeks as well so I can't really afford to pay £400. I know kwik-fit doesn't have the best reputation but is it just exaggeration or should I stay clear? If not kwik-fit does anybody have any recommendations for alternative garages that I could look into that will be a little cheaper?

Thanks

Where abouts in the world are you fella?

I can't see the Kwik Fit service being much more than an oil service with maybe brake fluid if you are lucky.

I'd take any backstreet garage you or a mate or family member have used and are happy with over Kwik Fit in all honesty, but depending where you are based there are some good specialist independent places about.

Use Camskill for tyres and get a local place to fit them.

I'm in Fife in Scotland, you know of anywhere near here?

Just had a look, cheaper than I've found anywhere else cheers.

Hmm Fife is a bit out of my radius for knowing where's good and bad to be honest.

I've added Fife to the title, there are some members up there who will be able tin point you in the right direction.

If you're willing to come to glasgow theres automek and performacetek both cheaper than honda and work is good and never had a problem.

I wouldn't trust any of the Kwik-Fit garages i have been to in Fife to do a full service. For £130 it will be just an oil and filter change. air filter and not much else i would expect.

Do you have a Hi Q or Fife Auto near you? If so i would buy the bits myself from Opie Oils or similar and get someone like that to do it. or you could do it yourself, pretty easy tbh.

Cheers for the replies boys, got it booked in on Monday at a independent garage just down the road. Kinda know one of the boys so hoping he looks after her. They're gonna have a look at my exhaust as well, think I've acquired a wee hole in the last couple of days, sounds like a drawn oot fart when a accelerate lol.

glad you didn't go kwik fit got a mate works there tells me about all the scams they are told to do by managers I only pay 150 for a small service at Honda so not much diff to what kwik fit are charging anyway
