leaking clutch master cylinder

Messages

Hi, first time post

When I was out the other night, I got in my premier ep3, started her up, dipped the clutch, heard an odd noise and the clutch stayed on the floor!

Im not particularly mechanical, but after rooting about in the engine bay, and discovering the clutch is in fact hydraulic, and the noise wasn't a snapping clutch cable, the clutch master cylinder is leaking DOT 4.

Has anyone replaced the master cylinder before, and if so, did they go for a standard one? I don't mind going for an upgrade if it prevents it from happening again!

Cheers

I'm pretty sure standard is the way to go. H got quoted just over £260 fitted from the main dealer so probably quite a bit cheaper at a local place.
