Hi not posted here for few yrs, my 02 ctr is in for 72k major service tomorrow. Anyone had this one done
Yet? Been quoted £500.

Mine will be due for this service next year I think as its on 04 plate, let us know how you get on m8.
 
Do your own service easiest job on the planet. And I was not mechanically minded always do my own now!
 
They'll probably do normal service, spark plugs and valve clearances which means they'll need a cold engine to do it.

If that's a main dealer quote it's probably right which means it's expensive.
 
If your not up to it yourself take it to a reputable honda tuner. Much cheaper. Whereabouts in the country are you?
 
got my one coming up soon as well (the dreaded one!). I want to get it done by Honda, I have full Honda service history so worth keeping up as its a limited edition, should help with the value of the car :).

yeah oil and plugs etc.. i can do but think valve clearances and stuff is involved, i would rather pay the price for peace of mind its been done properly.

With you there but there is no way in this world I would let one of those useless jobs worth Honda mechanics any where near my car.

I wouldn't now. TGM only.

If you're in Wakefield TDI North is probably the place to go.
 
Look in your service book, it's the one where valve clearances are done.
 
Im in Bridgend/Cardiff area,

Having a problem with idle/throttle responce so they are looking at that problem the same time, was told valve clearances will be done,fuel filter,sparks,oils etc.


will post once ive had car back 1 day this week.

That is gutting to hear, if we can't trust a Honda technician with our cars then we,re screwed.....
 
If you get there first thing and they do it before you leave it should be okay. Best to call up really.
 
I had the 75k service done at Honda - was quoted £475, got it for £350 all in - didnt have valve clearances done as they were done 5k miles ago.

It is oil, oil filter, air filter, brake fluid, gearbox oil, spark plugs, pollen filter and the usual checks, valve clearances and idle speed check/adjust.

My local Honda dealer is 20mins away and to be honest I wouldnt take it anywhere else personally.
For the service and care taken, its not worth me wasting the fuel going elsewhere.
Plus I get MOTs free for life, so thats £50 a year saved, I know the H service costs more than independant specialist, but this just about evens it out I think.
