Mikey81's - 2008 S2000

Hopefully I get a couple of track days in next year, I want to do bedford as it's a great track with plenty of space to learn limits and not get too close to a barrier.

Had the front tyres changed this morning so i have Uniroyal Rainsport 3 all round. The old falkens still had about 3mm left but in this weather they were awful.

I have also received the V5 today and my refund cheque for the S2k, so i can start the process of getting my numberplate on my new car :)

I met up with the buyer of my S2k today to sort out number plates, we agreed to wait until the new V5's arrived to make it easier all round.

Was a bit strange seeing my old car again, I've never seen one of my old cars before after I had sold it. He seems to be enjoying it which is nice and only mod was a weighted gearknob :)

Boring update :)

I received my V5 today so my numberplate is now all sorted. I haven't received the retention certificate yet for the other plate but it should be here soon.

I managed a little run today. Farnborough to central London at peak times, then up to Silverstone where 2 people decided today was a good day to have an accident on the M40 and M1 so not the greatest of journeys. Then back home. It managed a respectable 29mpg average which is about what I was expecting/hoping for as my expenses covers that nicely :)

Looks like this was short lived. Change in circumstances so it will be for sale soon.

It will be advertised for £10,500. PM me if interested but I will be putting together a proper advert soon

Still not really sure what's happening but I didn't have any photos of the car now it has my numberplate on it, be rude not to put a couple up

The 350z lasted for a whole 2 months and i have bought another S2000 today. 350z will be cleaned up and advertised, i'm in no rush to sell it so will flick between both cars for a while.

I will update this will full details and pictures as i am getting it over a pit tomorrow :)

The car is a 2008 S2000 in silver with black leather, 36k and full Honda history. It has a couple of extras like the hardtop and heated seats. It just feels soo right to be sat back in a S2000, even when the wife was following me home and the 350z does look good.

Photos stolen from the advert as its too dark at the moment

After 33 months the CTR is going. It's been the most reliable car i have ever owned. It has 100,500 miles on the clock and the Mrs is looking at jobs a little bit further away so something cheaper to run.

A mate has a Smart ForTwo Brabus for sale. It's a 2004 with 24k on the clock, full history and it's a nice spec to keep her happy :) He was looking for an ep3 so yesterday we met up and we both had a drive of the cars and in a couple of weeks it looks like we will be exchanging cars.

This afternoon we went to visit the parents in law, on the way home there was a horrible noise from the passenger side rear going over bumps, i figured it was something in the boot hitting.

When i got home i had a look under the car and the passenger side was covered in fresh fluids which smelt like petrol. So out with the tools and jack to get the wheel off to investigate. When i started taking a closer look at the shock it appears that the seal has gone. The car has Nitron R1 suspension, but looking at the receipts they are nearly 3 years old and have done 16k.

Luckily i have the original shocks and springs which i am going to get re-fitted for now and have a look into getting the Nitrons re-built.

oem shocks and springs back on, new nuts used where I could as I don't like re-using old stuff.

It feels a bit stiffer but I haven't really pushed it much as I just wanted to get the car back on the road. Will get the geometry checked tomorrow if I get time just to make sure.

The drivers side front shock was also just starting to leak. My plan was always to get them all rebuilt, but this may wait a month or so to limit my spending as I don't 'need' them yet as I don't think I will manage any track days just yet.

The EP3 went today, and its replacement it a laugh to drive. Its certainly no Type R but does make you have a stupid smile when you drive it

Car is still great, i really did miss driving an S2000 and it was only 2 months. The snow and ice have been fun, as much as I wasn't too bothered about having VSA it does a good job for normal driving when the road isn't quite as grippy as you expect it to be but you can turn it off and enjoy yourself.

It needs a service soon, but I'm likely to go overboard and get a few more things done like plugs, brake fluid, gearbox oil, diff oils etc, along with an MOT in April, I cant say I have noticed anything it's likely to need but you never know.

The warranty paperwork has come through which is nice now that's sorted.

This evening I fitted a connects2 kit so I could plug my phone into the stereo, nice and simple with it being plug and play. It sounds ok for now and it means I can use it for nav and music out of the stereo

Just been using the S2000 and enjoying it recently :) Still haven't got my numberplate swapped over but at least the paperwork has now been sent. Once I get that back i will actually advertise the 350z

Nearly at 39k so will book it in for a service at Honda this month.

A few photos to show the colour of the car as its taken a little while to grow on me

Honda collected my car on Tuesday last week to investigate the vibration on acceleration.

I was hopeful to get it back before going away at the weekend but there was a delay with the parts so I had to take the 350z, it has made me realise that the S2000 really is the car for me at the moment.

I got a call this afternoon to say that my car was on its way back to my house and was all sorted :)

I have never had a car with any kind of warranty but they collected the car, investigated the issue, fixed it and returned it with me not having to spend anything, still seems weird.

Anyway from what I can see it has 2 new half shaft cups (no idea of the correct name) which is what I thought it was, so I should now have peace if mind for those in my ownership :)
