Milano Red FN2 from Aberdeenshire.

Just introduced myself in the newbie section so thought I should post some car pics.

This is my Type R I have owned for 2 years (the longest I've ever kept a car!). I've done 50,000 miles during that time and it's been a great do-it-all car. It gets me to work every day, carries bikes on the roof, goes on family holidays, long road trips, takes rubbish to the skip etc! I have recently replaced the worn standard suspension with Meister R coilovers but other than that the car is standard. I would like to start doing the odd track day next year hopefully.

Here are some pics of the FN2 and some of my old EK9 aswell since I'm at it.

Very nice! :smt023

That's some mileage you've done!

Plans are to get the suspension geometry checked/set ASAP, although haven't got a clue who to take it to up this neck of the woods. I would also like braided brake hoses and possibly a spare set of wheels with track tyres. Currently running Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres on the road and very impressed with them. Any other mods I've seen that I like are far too expensive!

Nice little RS Twingo Gordini I see in the background too ;)

Nice FN2 and EK9
Both look well cared for mate

Well spotted! The Twingo is the girlfriends car, quite a nice little thing.

Thanks. The EK9 was a second car so didn't have as hard of a life as the FN2 does!

EK9 looked clean as, very nice.

Not a huge FN2 fan but yours does look great, what do you think to the Meisters?

Thanks. Just thinking back and it was around 8 years ago I had the EK9! What an amazing car to drive. There was a tiny ding on one of the doors and one of the number plate tabs was snapped but other than that it was great condition. Can't remember why I sold it actually.

Very impressed with the Meister R suspension so far. My standard shocks were leaking and generally worn out so needed replaced, otherwise I wouldn't have upgraded. I was put off some other coilovers as reviews said they were quite harsh on the road so when I read about Meister R I knew they were the ones for me. I haven't played about with them yet, just set them to what others have done on here, but straight away they felt good. Best of all they were probably cheaper than replacing with the genuine Honda stuff!

Nice FN2 you have yourself there.

Might be a bit of a trek for you but CLCM in Edinburgh will cater for your geometry needs if there isn't anywhere closer to home.

I'm sure there is somewhere in the Stirling/Perth area and i can guarentee there will be somewhere up around the aberdeen/dundee area.

I know a few folks on other forums from around that area so will do some research and get back to you

Thanks folks. A friend suggested DMC Performance in Inverurie.

Reidline Performance was another possibility, I'll have to get in touch. They are in Kintore so not far for me. I'm actually about an hour north of Aberdeen so in a bit of an awkward corner away from eveything!

I should maybe ask in another thread about this but I have a question about setting the rear geometry.

I'm aware that shims are needed to adjust the geometry, but are these items that any "performance" garage will supply/be aware of? Or is this specific to the FN2 and needs a specialist?

If that makes any sense!

Nice FN2 You have there, the EK9 is lovely as well, Wallace Performance in Aberdeen do the fast road set up as well.
