FN2 MUGEN 200

Can any please explain why the fn2 mugen 200 in white are 5k more expensive then a white fn2, the only deference i can see is wheels , rear bumper and not much more.. or im i missing somthing?

They are limited edition; wheels front and rear lips and a numbered plaque.

They were released before all the fugen copies flooded the market

Don't forget the black wing mirror caps Ed, or the leather numbered (to match the Mugen plaque) wallet pouch!

No mechanical differences whatsoever.

I spent just under couple of grand on genuine bits and had an identical looking one, but obviously not an official Mugen 200. I even had the genuine Mugen badge on the back ( £70  )

My personal preference is to save up a bit more and go genuine. As a rule of thumb the aftermarket parts tend to need additional prep work for paint and fitting which puts body shop costs up - plus they're fake!

Type R kits seem to have the best reputation for quality if you did want fake parts, but why not speak to Matt at Injection Imports? You'll be surprised how good his Mugen prices are.

I am in agreement with both Ed and Welshy here in regards to Fugen parts lol. I like that Fugen. :D Standard FN2 looks plain to me, but you put the Mugen kit on it as above in the pics and the Mugen 20 Spoiler, The FN2 in my opinion looks a much better car.

Mugen parts are very over priced but the quality is worth it. And OEM fitment too. So you could say the Mugen parts are OEM+. Just a shame Mugen stopped doing the wing for the EP3.

Matt is very good at sourcing parts and his prices are good. Plus his price includes shipping from Japan to your door.

To quote the service manager at my old Honda garage. "Matt can get things from Honda Japan that Honda UK can't" :D

The reason Mugen parts are more expensive is usually due to the R&D that has gone into them, which companies then copy and sell at a fraction of the cost using lesser materials.

I'll admit some things are stupidly priced like the carbon ignition coil cover, but in those cases I'll still buy genuine, just wait for a good used deal.

To me, buying Fugen is the same as wandering around with a fake Rolex.

I do wonder how many people who buy Fugen parts, would'nt dream of buying fake clothing / trainers

It's a dry joint in the system. You can either take it out try resoldering the connections and board or buy a new screen from Honda.
