Hi guys, just signed up

Car history to date:
Fiesta mk2 (standard to pepper pots, lowered, XR2 dash)
Peugeot 205 GTi 1.6 (standard to lowered, 1.9 wheels, intake, exhaust, colour-coding)
Ford Escort RS Turbo series 2 (standard to wheels, engine circa 200BHP, suspension, exhaust, mag feature in Performance Ford)
Ford Escort Cosworth (standard to Rondall wheels, suspension, Stage 3, intercooler 325BHP at Graham Goode)
VW Mk3 Golf GTi (stardard to...noticing a theme here :chug: wheels, suspension, exhaust, intake)
VW MK4 Golf GTi (standard to wheels, coilovers, anniversary body kit, anni headliner, R32 seats, R32 lights, 220BHP)
VW MK5 Golf GTi (standard to wheels, coilovers, Edition 30 body kit)

and this brings us up to date Honda Civic Type-R EP3.

I bought the car off a friend at work after being offered it for a good price. So I sold the Mk5 Golf and here I am.

History wise the car only has two previous owners, and I have know the car during my mates 7 years ownership. Mechanically the car wanted for nothing, having a massive folder brimmed with receipts and invoices, even has the original bill of sale (18k with the options!)

Is a 2002 Milano Red model, with AC, 6 disc changer and the front fogs options. When I took ownership had just ticked over 120k, not a problem with all the serving to back it up. The only task ahead for me, was for me to put my mark on it, plus tackle the dreaded Milano FADE!! Not a massive issue for me though and I am a detailer in my spare time.

Day one, at home on my driveway. Kettle on (culpa for me) and broke out the shampoo, clay bar, machine polisher and all my detailing goodies.

As you can see some TLC was needed. I did the basic wash, clay, rinse, wash, and then started with some 3M compound and a green pad. Coming from VW paint first thing noticed was the softer Honda paint. Was never going to eliminate the fade, but was confident could improve.

Started to strip the car to clean it better, yes i do have OCD

Painted the wiper arms:

Wheels where in a right mess, tyres needed replacing too. So I started to search the classifieds and picked up some much better ones with new Avons

Old ones

New ones being cleaned and treated to PoorBoys wheel sealer

Bumper off, OCD really taking hold now...

Painted grill

Rude not to clean behind bumper whilst off!

New Honda badge

Will update the thread with more pics and details. But so far fitted pvt plate S19 LUN, replace brakes all rounds, full service, millers Nanodrive oil, spark plugs, gearbox oil, aux belts, AC recharged, new mats, new passengers door card, replace centre console trim and old one had some marks, full valet inside, Woolites treated the seats, new fog lights, replace rear boot plinth, nameplate LEDs, silver tec bulbs, replace new fob and headlight bulbs.

Looks a million times better buddy! May I ask what you used on the exhaust? Mines looks very tatty too and I have no idea what to use on it haha!

Looks a lot better Simon,

The car looks burgundy in the first few pictures, really threw me

Good car car history aswell

Cheers mate, yes colour was a bit lacking to start. Still not 100% but better.

Suspension set up next. Eibach Pro or ABPs and Bilstein B4s.

Picked a few bits up from Honda, Aux belt, both pulleys, battery bar, bolts, air box screws and headlight bolts.

Going to start cleaning the engine bay up next so made a start last weekend:

Next on the list is to refurb the inlet manifold, fit aux belt and pulleys, refurb pulley bracket and refurb rocket cover.

Si

Made a start on the inlet, fuel rail and aux belt bracket last night. Sorry for poor pics, will get some better ones up once days get longer.

So rubbed it all down to key, then masked up and plenty of paper towel to prevent overspray.

How it started, stripped covers off and removed all wiring and harness out of the way. Left looking a bit tired:

Paint for the job:

All prepped ready for paint:

Did a few clips and bolts at the same time:

Few coats later, very please with outcome and finish:

All back together:

Next going to look at refurbishing the alternator in same plus the AC pipes. Then onto the rocker cover in some VHT wrinkle red paint.

Did some more work to the engine bay, plus fitted my battery cover.

Tray out and left with this:

Cleaned up tray and engine bay:

Fitted battery cover:

All back:

Pleased with outcome.

Few more bits arrived from Tegiwa.

Resevoir socks and brake stopper:

Refurbed cover arrived.

Hopefully be fitting along with Aux belt and pulleys when have free slot.

Few bits done this week.

Fitted new centre console as old one had a few marks etc.

All back

Then replaced the passengers side mirror seal as always had a bit missing:

Rude not to clean behind it whilst off

All back together with new seal:

Plus my ITG intake arrived

Now...this may end up with me fitting, a manifold, a 2.5 b-pipe and then getting a remap ***... Slipper slope as this one was meant to be staying standard!

Will order a filter cleaning kit, then fit.
Bits to do this month
Fit Aux and tensioner pulleys
Fit Aux belt
Adjust valve guides
Fit refurbed rocker cover
Clean and fit ITG
