My Type-R #3 - Milano FN2

Flashpro has transformed the car! Feels much more alive and fun :)

As other fn2 owners will know, the Rev counter screen gets scratched and looks awful at a certain angle - particularly from the passenger seat! After reading some guides on here (big thanks to them!) I decided to try it myself.

This is how it looked before:

Using this product, a couple of quid on eBay:

Very happy!

I also fitted a 'Civic' badge at the rear; it had been removed by a previous owner but evidence remained despite my polishing efforts! So a new replacement was my best option :)

A few more updates to follow, but the car is filthy and the weather typically Welsh, so it'll have to wait..

Haven't updated this for a while, been a bit lazy.
Haven't done anything majorly exciting, just bringing it up to date and fitting items which were fitted to later models, etc.

Firstly a HID conversion; bought from HIDS direct, I went for the 35w / 5000k system to mimic the OEM setup as near as possible. I must say, for the money (and 24 month warranty) I'm impressed!

I didn't want the ballasts sat in the engine bay, so I removed the front bumper to hide them away. I mounted them underneath the headlights.
I also added some rust protection while the bumper was removed.

This shows the difference, though it never looks the same in a photo:

I also fitted a reverse camera which displays on the satnav screen automatically when reverse gear is selected.

I added an Xcarlinkunit, to be able to play music from my iPhone mounted under the armrest. Works perfectly, I can even change tracks using the steering wheel controls:

On the left, a TDI North short shifter; I was finding the shift quite long in comparison to my old Teg. Though, I'm not sure how accurate my memory is..
On the right, some lateral locks for the rear anti-roll bar. The bar was shifting and catching the exhaust, these prevent this.

Shifter fitted along with a weighted Skunk2 knob. I'd like a Spoon Ti knob, but slim chance of finding one of them :(

My only recent photo of the car while clean :)

I'm still hoping to have the wheels refurbed and front end painted due to stone chips, etc.
Other future plans, I'd like the GP kit and a Mugen front grill but I can't stop looking at FD2s, so I'll hold off on any expensive mods for now ;)

Thanks for looking.

The brakes were lacking in bite, front pads were Ferodo DS2500 as fitted by the previous owner. I know these are raved about on some forums, but these are the second car I've tried them on and I still don't like them!

The car has Stoptech touring front brakes, so I bought some Stoptech Street Pads to match and fitted them on Boxing Day. I've driven about 350 miles since and they are much, much better!
They were £95 delivered but look like they'll last me forever :)

If anybody has the same front calipers (ST41?) and fancies the Ferodo pads, send me a PM and you can have them.

DS2500's are very overrated. I don't understand why they are so loved.

I thought it was my driving, as I only use it on the road and not particularly hard on the brakes. Not sure how these Stoptech pads would cope with track use but they're night and day improvement for me!

I always found they had a very short window of operation. Cold they lacked bite. Warm they were good but then faded not long after and had no performance.

So, Honda UK have agreed to painting the roof and replacing the windscreen top seal. A common issue to those who know the FN2, though I'm surprised Honda are still warranting the issue considering the age of the car. Still, I'm not complaining ;)

My dilemma now is whether to pay and have have some other paintwork done while the car is at the bodyshop..

The car is now being used everyday as my better half is using my little C1 after selling her car. I'm enjoying it too

Roof is painted and a top job they've done too!

New windscreen seal fitted, old seal left in the boot.

Also had a side moulding painted due to the lacquer peeling.

As much as I love the car, the want for an fd2 is strong and I've seen one I like. So if anybody is in the market for an fn2 feel free to send me a pm :)

Just kidding. Wouldn't sell mine for all the tea in china. Making it in to a special FD.

Not familiar with that one. My mate Dan is selling a nice white one with a few extras. He's a Honda tech too.

Very nice sir, I didn't like the driving position on the fn2 when they came out ! But there growing on me.
