new head unit wont turn on??

Hi, i've just installed a new alpine head unit into my ctr and i've connected with all the leads needed i think??? but i have no power?? what should i be looking for? should the unit come to life as soon as i've connected it up?

sorry for loads of questions, hope someone can help.

Have you connected the aerial properly, sometimes they have the earth in them and most headunits now won't switch on without being earthed.

My Alpine head unit has to have a positive live, the power cannot come from the loom.

Have you connected back up the plug to the hazard switch? If not that could be the problem.

Hey guys thanks for the advise, I've done it now!!! Just took it apart again put it all back together (including the hazard lights etc) and bingo it works!! Thanks again
