Hi Guys and gals!!

Im thinking about buying a DC5 and I thought best place to ask would be on the forum.

Would really like to know running costs, mpg (when driven sensibly ;) ) general insurance costs and who to go through etc.

Any feedback or help much much appreciated as been after a teg for years and now finally given green light of the boss to get one!!

Cheers

Rob

MPG is the same as a CTR, so around 30mpg, can be more, can be less, depends how you drive it, and distances, like any car. Should put V-Power or Super unleaded, read some cars don't respond well to 95 Ron, though would like this comfirmed myself.

Running costs are again quite similar to a CTR, stuff like brake pads and discs are cheapish (Pads 50quid discs about 100), but some bits are expensive such as HID ballast's, headlights, etc and being faily rare, there harder to get 2nd hand, depending on the part. Just hope you don't need a new windscreen. :D Tyres are again hot hatch territory, there only 215/45/17 afterall, basically running costs aren't bad at all, for OEM stuff, it's when you start modding......lol

Insurance is the same as any car, depends heavily on your NCB, and postcode, and specialists are the way to go, as long as you've got 1 years NCB on a performance car. Im with A-Plan, they were the cheapest for me at 27. Also try Sky, and Chris Knott.

Looks like DC% it is then, did think about a CTR as a few g's cheaper but always think its better to be a little different lol

Welcome to the site, i found that the DC5 seems to be better on fuel that both my friends ep3's even on a run, not sure why. The insurance will be more on a DC5 because it's in group 20.
I haven't had any trouble finding bits that i have needed for mine. When i had the windscreen replaced the company who fitted it sourced one within about 3 days of me calling them.
But www.itr-dc5.com is definitely your best bet for info.
