NIGHTHAWK BLACK EP3 PREMIER EDITION

Very nice car chap, nice and shiney :D

Don't see many with the gauge there though, does it get in the way of the other dials? Also, get much difference with the Jazz washer jets?

nizmo80  The backbox does not come with the mushroom gasket you need  i got mine from unipart motor factors for about 8 pound better than hondas 14 pound for a gasket. Anyway  i have a supersprint b pipe with mine quite  loud the backbox does come with a bung...................

Thanks suggs 84 no the gauge is not to much in you face and does not get in the way with all the dials.......only difference with the washer jets is they put a mist over the whole windscreen a lot better than the old standard ones.....

Cheers for that, must say i think that's on the list of things to do, a few people have said the Jazz jets are worth getting over standard!

Back in a Honda.....FN2 CTR Nighthawk black

Hi Everyone..........................................

I've not been on the forum for quite some time ...so I've decided to sort this thread out... Starting at the beginning and working forward to where I am now..

The beginning...so started off with a Type R EP3 2002 the car that started this thread for me..so here are a few more pictures for old time sake. Such a great car and the only reason I sold it was the mileage was getting quite high so decided to sell her at 129k miles..

So moving on I decided I wanted another EP3 this time came in the form of a 2003 type r in satin silver with 75k on the clock and was a great find...To freshen things up I decided to do a front face-lift conversion and did quite a bit of work on this one don't know why I sold it but I did a year later with 80K on the clock here are a few pictures......

At this point I decided to move on to something different and bought a mk5 Golf Gti ...I always liked the mk5 ...So decided I needed one.. So after quite a few modifications and money as you do the car was where I wanted it 260bhp 300lbft and after 2 years of ownership I decided to sell her.. That was a very sad day. Here are some pictures...

This is what I bought next E92 325I M Sport.... What can I say about this car not much really I only kept it for a month... The car was really clean and well looked after by the previous owner... It was smooth and had electric everything but to be fair I just got bored of it... here are some pictures..

So this brings me to where I am now... Found this FN2 CTR GT in Nighthawk Black, 35 miles away from me so decided to trade in the BMW and get back in a Honda. Seems I have come full circle...

Thats all for now folks.....................

Cheers for the kind comments... Need to find some time to get stuck in with the car and get some things done....first job is the brakes the person who had the car before me I guess did not drive it very much as the brakes seem to be quite rusty so need to inspect and replace if needed...also calipers need painting...

Hi Everyone....

Decided to get stuck in and sort the brakes out. As i said before the brakes were looking a tad on the rusty side so started on the fronts first by removing the pads then gave the brakes a good wire brush and a good dose of brake cleaner they started to look a lot better and got rid of ten years of muck...pads were fine so copper greased and replaced also gave the slide pins a good clean and lube and then gave them a fresh lick of paint decided to paint them black and keep it stubble ...brakes still need some attention in my eyes their stopping power is very weak.

OPTION ONE

braided lines
upgraded pads
upgrade brake fluid 5.1

OPTION TWO

Accord type r front brake conversion

Next small job was remove the old gear gaiter as it was looking very sorry for itself ....i managed to pick an Gray Alcantara gaiter off ebay. went with grey rather than black and it fitted really well looks and feels so much better than what it came with standard ...job done.

That's all for now.....................................

Both nice subtle improvements there, looking good. As for the brakes I suppose it depends on the power you're looking to make, Option 1 should be fine if you're not going mad and it made a massive difference to my EP3's braking. I assume there's a brake stopper for the FN2, that may help?

Cheers for the feedback .....i did have braided lines and upgraded pads on my EP3 and thought the brakes were great ....so will be going down option 1 route with upgraded brake discs as well ..

JUST A SMALL UPDATE

Just a small update..............i ordered a a H7R hid kit a couple of days ago and it arrived this morning from the car mod shop . it's a great kit at a great price and has the small ballasts which is prefect for the FN2 because of the very little room under the bonnet anyway had to more a few things out the way as you do to fit the passenger side one but nothing difficult.

MINOR UPDATE

Hi.. everyone i thought id update the thread ...ive been busy and trying to get jobs done around the weather. Anyway wet sanded the headlights as they were looking a bit rough overall i think they came out well much better than before. next up ...clay bared most of the car had to stop due to the weather but the paint feels so much more smooth as it should be..also removed the 3 remaining stickers on the underside of the bonnet which now looks clean...When i brought the car it did not come with any mats so brought some genuine ones in mint condition off ebay
which was a result:D...also today i phoned Honda and ordered a new tailgate type r badge so will be picking that up tomorrow....

Brought some Heko wind deflectors so went about fitting them

i'd.. noticed the Air filter was quite dirty so decided to order a HKS drop in panel filter from eurocar parts nice and quick with next day delivery so why the airbox was out i decided to do the hondata mod and smooth out the airbox with the help of the Dremel...........................

This is a great free mod did this to my ep3 .... its been around for ages and its free. The best thing is throttle response seems to be sharper and a little bit more noise...... job done!

I know this is the case for the EP3, not sure if the same is true for the FN, but you know that there's a space set-aside for the ballast of a HID kit _under_ the light itself?

The EP3 headlamp assembly when used with the Honda HID kit is supposed to have the ballast screwed into the underside of the assembly, it even has mount points for it. Small ballast be damned ;)

update.................

Small update ....

not had much time to spend on the car since i brought it 3 weeks ago ...what i can report is my fn2 is now sold with out me having to advertise it which is an absolute bonus a friend at work brought it from me.

So as for the EP3 i have ordered a few bits for it which needed replacing...

1)..New number-plate light covers also fitted led bulbs i had forgotten about to replace the yellow ones it had....

2)..New front and rear Honda badges... as the ones it had were past it

3) New passenger seat release lever...cheapest item i have brought from Honda ...£1.80

4) New battery...as the battery on the car when i got it was on its last legs also brought a new battery tie to go with it.

Its hard to concentrate on one area of the car at the moment as lots of things need to be done. And the list keeps growing.....

Anyway also removed lot of rusty bolts from the car and replaced with some password JDM/ bolts/washers i had for the fn2.....
