No Sound from double din.

I fitted a JVC double din to replace my single din Alpine unit and have no sound at all now. I have checked the fuses, and had to replace the 'back-up' fuse located under the bonnet.

No sound from DVD's, CD's, radio or anything.....

Anyone had this issues before or any ideas what this could be ?

PS: Im using the earth from the ISO as this has been fine for other cars ive owned.
Im just going to swap the units around now and see if its the unit itself rather than the car.

Probably something to do with the harness adaptor, have you connected the remote turn on wire properly ?

sounds like its not turning the amp on

Thanks for the reply Mickey.

I do not have an AMP fitted so i don't connected the remote lead.

Everything works on the headunit bar the sound...

Ive earthed the handbrake cable to the black earth cable on the ISO and it allows DVD playback on the move so that tells me the earth is ok.....

Yes mate, looks fine but have changed anyway. Just about to connect old HU and check for sound. If that also has no sound I'm totally confused ??

Would I still expect to hear some kind of sound if all four speakers have somehow blown during the installation of the new HU (which I doubt very much) ?

Ok I've got sound from the old unit !!

Could it be that I cheated the handbrake cable ? There are no burning smells from the HU

Double check the audio part of the iso block isn't getting pulled out slightly

At work there was a berlingo with powered up hu but no sound, popped it out pressed iso block in and worked just fine

If its nothing as simple as that may be an idea to try the hu in another car, test if it's the hu or car not playing along

Reverted back to the alpine for the time being.

Think I will send the HU to my local audio specialist for testing.

Cheers for all the help and ideas. This is what makes this forum what it is!

Thanks
