Noise from underneath bonnet after long drives - any help please

Messages

In the past, whenever I go for long drives 50+ miles motorway or a/b roads I get noises from underneath the front of the car.

The following can happen (sometimes different times and not always together)

- steering wheel becomes squeaky (end of long drive, never short)
- once stationary after leaving motorway, creaking sound from wheel/axle area
- knock sound (one loud knock) when moving off after being standstill for few mins after long drive

Funny thing is, these sounds come after the long drive, if I drive locally I won't hear a single sound.

Car info:
90,000 miles full Honda service history
Next service due 96,000

Any suggestions?
Only thing that came to mind was steering rack?
Anyway to check?

Thanks

It could be the rack. Knock noise is usually the top mounts on the front struts or the drop links.

Try those first as they are easier to check than the rack.
