Premium or Excess

My insurance is due within the next month for my S2000, so I have been phoning the insurance companies to get the best quote. I'm not sure whether to go for the cheapest premium - £390 with an excess of £350 or the cheapest excess of £250 with a premium of £486.15. What do other car owners go for?

Do you have the ££'s around to pay the excess should the unfortunate happen.
They are banking on you not having an accident by offering you the lower premium for the higher excess, are you as confident in your own abilities ??

Do the companies compare, if one is better will they do a lower price with higher excess etc ?? Personally I go for higher excess lower premium evertime.
Less likely to make a claim that way as it's going to cost you in the long run if you do anyway.
