Privilege Car Insurance

Got my insurance yesterday with Privilege I'm 27 and have 7 years no claims and it still cost me just over £900.

How does this compare? Am I paying too much?

Only you can tell that, you need to shop around and see what sort of quotes you get. Try the independent specialists on here and see what sort of prices they come up with, as well as all the comparison sites.

I think I paid £520 at 28, 10 years NCB with 2 claims (1 fault, 1 non-fault). Through Adrian Flux, can't remember who the actual insurer was though.

Don't forget that the cost of insurance has risen sharply in recent years.

Fair point, I heard some disgusting figure like +40% being banded around. Bloody glad those 2 claims are coming off on my next renewal then.

Proper daylight robbery.

I still can't figure out when you can have a none fault claim, how that makes you a bigger risk.

You can't control other idiots on the road.

Perhaps I wasn't driving defensively enough around that mini roundabout when someone decided to crash into the side of my Corrado. Merchant bankers.

I always get confused when it asks me about any claims... I had an accident about 2 years ago (Wasn't my fault) I always tick the "No" box should I be ticking yes? even though it wasn't my fault?

Depends on your conscience. :) I would personally, because I'd hate to run the risk of invalidating my insurance policy and that coming to light when I need to make a claim. For the sake of another £XX (or whatever) I think it's worth doing.

Yes, you need to declare all claims, fault or non fault.

(some) Insurers find that customers who have a non-fault claim are statistically more likely to go on to have further claims. Please do not shoot the messenger!

Im 27 also, 4 yrs no claims, been quoted £881 fully comp with Admiral . thats with my mum and dad as named drivers too though.

if i had 7 yrs n/c id expect to pay less than what youve been quoted :)

You must all live in the ghettos or you're not shopping around enough. 27 years old and 7 years PNCB on a clean licence in a private carpark. £600 on a group 20 car with all mods declared.
