Evening troops. As in the few civic flaws thread above my ep3 has developed the heat shield rattle behind bulkhead. As its out of warranty is there any solution i can do to this myself?

Simple - remove the heatshield altogether. Doesn't take long at all (3 bolts IIRC).

Also before you start just make sure its not the i-VTEC cover. Get somebody to rev the car a little whilse you listen around the engine bay. If its the i-VTEC cover it can be solved by simply placing a couple of washers under each of the mounting points.
