Rear Glass

I've got a weird one, the back glass in my EP3 is it terrible condition, but on the inside? It appears to have a plastic sheet covering it that's bubbling (which my dad started peeling away)
I don't believe its window tint.
What's it for?

I've got the same on my ep3 wondering if it's like a factory film to keep the window in place if it shatters? Cars going to the tinters in the next month or two so will ask him

Looks like security film. Same stuff as window tint but clear. Stops glass shattering when it breaks!!
