Removing Resonator

I plan to remove my intake resonator and have a direct feed to my airbox using a form of scoop and some ducting.

I have done a bit of reading and it seems some say removing it will hinder performance? The car will be mapped eventually but if it's going to do that then I'll put it off until right before it goes in.

Apparently the FD2's ECU is pretty good a self adjusting. I never got any lights up after fitting a de-cat.

This is what I have planned but a bit more homemade...

Me too. Didn't need the existing map changing.

Yep, second hand bargain. It works really well.

I tested it doing some data-logging and I was getting 16C intake temps with an ambient of 8C and that is with the open cone HKS with the custom heat shield! It does the job!

Mine will be going directly into the OEM intake.

I suppose it no different than running an aftermarket intake before mapping.

I found this at work and think I'll be able to make it into a pretty good scoop. It's a lid off an intake from a Ford.

Cheers for your help
