FK8 Seat repair for FK8 Type R

I've noticed that the right-hand driver's side bolster (rigid foam?) on the seat upright has effectively become detached from the frame and digs into my side when I'm seated in the car. I'm assuming this has been a gradual degradation with me getting in and out of the car over time. I was wondering if there is an economical way to repair the seat rather than just buy a whole new one.

I’d imagine any decent trimmer could do it, I’d be tempted to get it retrimmed in a more hard wearing material. I’d say I’m careful getting in and out, tend to wear soft wear soft trousers to avoid the wear but mine look worn.

Thanks VTECMattC - do you think the trimmer will be able to undertake seat repairs including sourcing new seat parts rather than a simple case of adding new "surface" material?

I'm not sure where you are located but there is a company that specialises in seats for the fk2 and fk8. I don't know if they do repairs as it looks like they make new seat covers to replace what's on the frame, but it's worth a call. They're online called Seatskinz UK. Just type in fk8 seats Seatskinz UK.. they're located in Wigan Lancashire.
Incidentally my fk2 divers vertical right bolster has a tiny hole in it but it doesn't seem to be getting worse so I'm just keeping an eye on it. But I did have a look online and found SeatSkinz. And know they're there if I need them. They're also familiar with the electrical connections under the seat for the airbags etc if they take the seat out. Hope this helps . I think half the battle is finding someone who is familiar with the seat. Then it's leaving the car with them unless they can do it while you wait. If it's a full seat cover it's just a matter of taking the existing one off and fitting the new one.I hope this helps and you can get it sorted. Honda do sell the two covers the top part and the seat base but when I enquired they said it's s seat strip and don't do it very often and can be difficult to fit as it has to be bang or there's creases in the cover. The labour costs of Honda are extortion so probably better with SeatSkinz or an car upholsterer who's done fk's before. Hope this helps Regards Fred.
