A supercharger with a tiny diameter exhaust. Is this a good idea?

Not that I know anything about that kind of thing but I've always heard people saying that a larger bore with a turbo/supercharger is better.

IIRC Guy tested the standard pipes to @300bhp before coming restrictive
I still have DC headers on though, Some mapping maybe required now.
We'll see what happens on the dyno.

Yeah just the back box, the actual b-pipe is restrictive esp on a SC set-up, you'll need a remap at the least i would say.

So, can I change the B pipe, and still retain a resonable amount of silencing?.

i used to run my spoon bpipe and stock muffler 4 trackdays,

trung went back to hes unslienced bpipe and stock muffer for everyday use its very very quiet.

the spoon bpipe is quiet on my car with OEM backbox and dc sports manifold

I'm thinking of changing my exhaust as i want something a bit louder

Has anyone been noise tested with stock box, no cat, race header and Spoon B Pipe??

I need mine to be ok for 98db and dont want to purchase a stock box if its not going to be quiet enough :?

Sara

if tp is up north or paul at TDi has got noise meter i will call in there if you like as i have bpipe, std backbox and dc sports header

I must say that it is Very quite now. Ive just been out looking for SCALPS

Looks and sounds like a stocker 8)

Although I think it has lost a little pull over 130.

Sara, that setup would easily be under 98db

I would have thought the std b pipe will be strangling the supercharger, the std back box is supposed to be good for 300bhp, if not a little heavy.

And just one small point there is no L

And theres no P in mine now

ps. got any rear discs

Jolly good,
have you anyway of checking the A/f ratio just in case, as I am sure changing the exhaust will mess it up, when I changed mine last time it was out quite a bit.

No, And Im at Oulton Park in the morning :| Would asume that some
mapping will be in order, but surley it would be richer if anything :|

iirc too rich can be as bad as too lean, maybe a quick phone call to the person you use to tune the car.
