Sloppy and loose gear lever

Hi all,

I have a bit of a strange one with my EP3 but not sure if it is supposed to be like this as I haven't got another EP3 to compare to. I have a 2006 Premier Edition with 130,000 miles on the clock but the gear lever seems to be quite loose and sloppy. I can feel this when it is in neutral and also when it is in gear. I have attached a video for you to see, but I have done some reading and apparently this could be needing a new gear lever assembly?

The car is still just under the 12 month Honda Used Approved Warranty but due to Worcester being a little while away, they recommended taking it to my local Honda dealer who want £60 to diagnose the problem. I'm a little skeptical on this as if the warranty won't cover it, I basically have just wasted £60.

Take a look and see what you think guys. I'd be interested to know what yours are like - are they as sloppy as this or are they much taughter; I know the EP3 is supposed to have one of the best shifts and it goes into gear fine, its just the lever that feels sloppy.

Thanks,

Do the gearbox mounts make any noticeable difference. I just have the stock engine mounts on at the minute but I kinda feel like there is a bit of engine movement and maybe these could do with a refresh; I am really cautious around these though as I heard inserts make a big difference in vibration which would put me off getting them I think. Seperately though the gearbox mounts, would be interesting to see what these did?
