small oil leak from under filter any ideas ???

small oil leak from under oil filter doesn't look like its the filter


was leaking before new filter fitted ? any ideas cv boot is oily

Could just be spillage from the oil change? It's hard not to make a mess when you take the filter off.

cleaned oil up stills comes back !

Interesting.... And you're SURE it's not from the filter seal?

I'd be looking at the sump to block gasket seal next probably. Do you know if your engine has ever been split for any reason?

An old trick I used to use on my mini engines was to clean and chalk the around areas I thought a leak was coming from, then you can follow the oil path through the chalk. The chalk helps stops the capillary effect and reduces spreading tendencies of the oil by the way.

seal behind the cooler? remove filter then cooler theres a rubber seal.

I had the same problem and thought it could have been 800 to repair, turned out to be the filter which was not tight enough (phew)
