Smoking when starting???

guys i need some advice!!!

when i start up in the morning or afterwork, the exhaust is alot smokier than normal!
once the engine has been running for a bit its fine, but its just on the initial start up when its bad for maybe 5-10 mins.

anyone have any ideas what it might be??

fuel, oil, something really serious???

erm... no different from normal just alot more of it, if that makes sense??

the lad who was behind me said it was black when i pulled out infront of him, we live at the same place so he parked beside me and told me but i had switched the engine off by then, i started the car again when he told me and it was absolutely fine!!
im not sure if it was valve stem clearances or just a wee build up of carbon???

if its white smoke, you've nothing to worry about, but if its black.. its another story..

White smoke isn't good, steam is fine. Black is fuelling, and blue is oil being burnt.

White smoke can be broke head gasket,check the colant level mate..

thanks guys, it could just be the fuel as i got caught short a few days ago and usually i put shell v-power in but i had to put a tenner of bp ultimate so it may of been that, ill keep an eye on it
