So my first Honda Civic Type R EP3 :)

Hello everyone! :)

I have just bought myself a EP3, premier edition 2004.
63K on the clock.
Milano Red, Carbon Fiber Exhaust & Pipecross induction kit (They were already installed on the car before purchase)

Very happy with the purchase.
I just have a few questions;
1) My clutch pedal seems kinda stiff, gear changes are smooth but the pedal doesn't seem that soft as it should, I took it to the local garage and the mechanic said the pressure plate needs replacing, so he suggested having the entire clutch replaced and quoted me £400 (£180 for the part from Euro Car Parts)
2) The induction kit is installed by previous owner, if I wanted to go back to a standard air-box, where could I purchase one?
3) My dash board doesn't show estimated MPG only shows Trip 1 / Trip 2, is there any way it can show the MPG?

Here are a few pics:

Hey ho! Welcome.

If it is a 2004 it won't be a premier edition, just a facelift model. It could be made to look like one however.

If you want a standard airbox try the traders on here Hendy Performance etc will help you or you could go through Lings Honda. If you can't afford a brand new one try and look for a second hand one off ebay or local breakers.

There is no estimated MPG on these I'm afraid.

Looks like it has premier seats from the second pic, but it doesn't have rear tints, which premiers did.

They also had a Momo branded steering wheel, a red carpet and "Type R" embossed on the front calipers.

Still, looks good. :smt023

Thank you all for the replies.
That's just about everything I wanted to clarify.
Any info regarding the clutch pedal issue?

Yeah if you change the clutch definately go for a genuine one, low biting point is a sign of it needing to be changed, as for price garages have different labour charges so it's just shopping around but try and get a decent garage to do it. If you can get to a specialist, such as, TDI North, Grinspeed etc.

The price you got quoted was that for parts and labour or just labour?

Well the garage quoted me £400 which included parts & labour, half day job he said.
But the part is from Eurocarparts.
But I might buy a genuine one from eBay.
And just pay labour.

See what they would quote you for labour only and supply them with a genuine Honda clutch. Labour costs could be around £150-£200 (Guesstimate).

oh right, thanks for that.
I'll contact the mechanic and see what he would quote me.
However, he did say that I could continue using the car like this for a while then consider replacing.
At the moment is 63k, how long do you reckon I could pro-long, at its current state?
