Got the B pipe and N1 fitted today! What a bloody noise    Need to find some tunnels ASAP.

It droans a tiny bit but I just the coughing and spluttering when the revs change! Awsome!

Can't really hear it in VTEC as the Gruppe M takes over. On the motorway I think it could get tiresome. Sometimes it's really quiet others it's not.

Not too convinced about performance though, seems to be the same, but time will tell when I get the Hondata!

Had the N1 on an unsilenced midpipe some time ago. Neighbours loved it.

Glad you got it in the end

Thanks to me for getting in there first

Yes mate, I still owe you a crate of beer for that!

Nice 1 Chris

I noticed the volume changes with the Spoon, sometimes it can be like stock other times it sounds like a blunderbus.

Yes, I picked up on that too! It's particularly load at low revs, and when the revs are changing. However when they are constant it's only a little louder than stock.

Having this on now though I could not imagine having a header as well, the car would be near non drivable!

you'll get used to it ;) I've got to the point where I don't think my BC Spec III exhaust is that loud  Although hearing one of my mates drive it on Saturday was amusing, I could hear him good way off ! lol

The noise increases with the amount of torque you put through the engine, low revs in 6th gear and plant your right foot it will sound fairly loud.

moderate revs holding it steady in pretty much any gear and it won't be that loud at all.

Thats what I've been noticing in the first couple of days of ownership. I don't normally drive in the lower revs anyway, alway sit at at least 3k.

The Spoon was a welcome relief compared to my old Topgear unsilenced system, now that was loud, was great when I first got it but I think loud is not always good. :D

shoud've got the manifold as well, then you would've noticed a BIG performance increase. most of the work occurs at the manifold and so fitting a spoon 1 would've really helped things! fit it b4 u bother with the ECU

I'm well aware of this mate, but I need to retain some drivability, so decided against it.

Chris, glad you've got it sorted - my N1 was only 2 days old when I travelled to Koblenz, so it was too new to get tiresome (have found that a constant 3k is about the quietest)

Was camping this Bank Holiday at a family / DofE campsite, and got called into work at 08:00 Sunday morning.

Cue a few not very happy campers

Excellent! Did you have a bung in for the drive over? Think I may have to purchase one soon!

Errr... Not quite. Long(ish) story, but it deserves to be told so here goes...

I started getting paranoid that I might not be let on the ring with my setup (nurburgring.org mentioned that they are very strict on enforcing the 95db limit :? )

Cue lots of ringing around Spoon stockists Friday morning to see if someone would deliver a silencer on Saturday for a reasonable price (everyone who I spoke that had one in stock uses Business Post who charge £32 for Saturday delivery

In the end I rang Spoon direct, and after explaining my predicament they very kindly took a silencer off the shelf, packaged it, & took it down to the post office for me for next day delivery (cost about £5).

Spoon weren't 100% sure whether Royal Mail would deliver it on Saturday morning, so I then rang Royal Mail cust service who confirmed that "they do deliver parcels to residential properties on Saturday". They also advised that if for any reason it wasn't delivered, to pop down to my local collection office to check whether it was waiting there. I then rang the local collection office to arrange a local backup plan...

Anyway Saturday morning came, and I had a nice white Spoon box waiting for me at my postal address!!!

So :smt038 :smt038 :smt038 to both Spoon & Royal Mail - Spoon for going out of their way to help me, and Royal Mail for... just doing what they're supposed to do (I've read enough complaints about them) It meant it was 1 less thing to worry about on my busy day before the Ring (was also at a wedding all day)

For the drive over, I went bung free as the noise helped kept me alert, and on the way back, It did the same back in the UK (although was regularly changing between stereo & spoon)

Incidentally the silencer is still in its white spoon box in my boot, as Nurburg weren't interested in my exhaust, and I am still in the early infatuation days with it

Well after hearing Alex Gosney tell me that his car was near undrivable due to the noise with a similar setup, I think that would put the finger on it :?:

i thought that might be the case. its what im worried about when i finally get round to buying one, it'll probably get so tiresome after a while you'll wanna rip it off
