Stubborn Crankshaft pulley bolt

Messages

I'm in the process of doing my timing chain. I cannot shift this damn crank pulley bolt. Does anyone have any ideas? I've seen some videos on youtube where people use the starter motor and a breaker bar wedged in place. I have got the special tool and i've tried with about 2.5m of leverage and it won't shift! feels like i'm gonna rip the engine off its mounts before the bolt comes undone! Next I will try some heat then maybe the starter motor method but I really don't feel that looks like a good idea...

P.s I have no access to any air tools.

No locking device on the crank pulley bolt.
Avoid using heat. You may damage the pulley as it’s dampened.
Impact tools will help. I’d ask around and see if anyone with a good quality impact gun (Snap-On/Mac) can come over and give it a ago.
Alternatively, man up and get some guns on it.
