Suggestions on suspension

A mate of mine is buying a Saxo VTR. He asked me what suspension to put on, not knowing anything about these cars i didnt know what to suggest. I wondered if anyone on here has owned one and has any ideas?
Think he's looking to spend bout £400 - £500
Also anything else you think is worth while doing?
