Syncro or Clutch issue?

Go to TGM or Performance Autoworks. Both aren't too far from you. Or a trip over to Area.

Area are closest, I'm going to get up there Monday or Tuesday. Come recommended do these guys in terms of gearbox and clutch problem?

Did you buy it from a dealer? If so they have to come with a 3 month warranty and must be fit for purpose. That might help?

I did buy it from a trader yes, rang them when I spent the first few hundred on it. Full of attitude and wouldn't let me speak to the owner (guy I bought the car off). Part of me wants to chase them for these costs too but the other part of me wants to just get on with it and fix it. In fact, I might fix it and then send a claim their way. I've spoken to them and they haven't been willing to help or return my calls. Absolute idiots

Avoid Drive Away Motors, Nottingham by the way!

Edit: I notice they now have a couple CTRs in stock, don't bother!

Get the work done at a specialist. Clutch is wear and tear so just grin and bear it. However, as you have warranty for the box. If it does need a refurb then ask the garage to do out a second receipt for the box work and take Drive Away to small claims to recover the cost.

That's the plan! Thing is, initially if they had just been reasonable I would have asked for a contribution but their attitude is terrible. I've just checked it out, I've covered 301 miles and spent £520 already on bits which needed changing. It had an MOT pass 15 days before I bought it and the CV boot leaking and illegal tyres should be an MOT failure, dodgey garage for sure.. Karma!
