tappet noise? cause?

Hello.

Im just wondering if anyone knows if its normal that my ep3 has a tappet noise until engine is warm. ?

Any info would be great.

When were the valve clearances last done, as they should be checked/adjusted every 25k miles.

I have checked the vast amount of service history and I cant find a thing on if or when they were done. Will a local garage be able to this or is it a main dealer thing. Sorry for the simpleton questions loxy, I'm not the most mechanically minded lol.

Anyone should be able to do it. But it can't be done on a warm engine. Honda normally ask for the car the night before then they can do it in the morning cold.

Honda charge £100 on top of a service for it. It would be less at another garage no doubt. For peace of mind, I'd try to find a normal specialist if your usual garage seems a bit sketchy about it.

Will do, its due a service in feb so ill try to find a good localish specialist before them and get all the niggles taken a look at.

I think I have similar problem.Car has vibrating sound until car is warm can feel it on acceleration pedal as well...hard to explain if anyone knows what I'm on about would be appreciated.

Hmm strange sounds like what mine is doing but only does it when is cold for first 10 minutes of driving.Does vibrating go away in yours when warm?

No it continues more so when the car is in gear. Car sounds a bit louder when my foot goes down on the clutch :-s
